You begin by lying a blue backed prediction card face down on the table. Then you display both the front and back of a red deck. With the help of a spectator, the magic begins ... You ask the spectator to give a number of their own choosing. They now use that number to select a card. The remainder of the deck is placed off to the side and the prediction is now turned over to reveal that it matches the spectator’s card! But it’s not a perfect match because the selection has a red back and the prediction is blue ... you respond, “No problem!” and with a snap of your fingers both cards now have blue backs! The audience is impressed, but you explain that the prediction you can understand, where all the other cards went is another matter... and with that, you turn over the remainder of the deck to reveal all the faces are now totally blank!

This is a real triple whammy! This is a very easy effect to perform and the audience response is always strong! The deck is handled by the spectator during most of the effect, there is no rough and smooth, no complicated moves, no switching of the deck, and it can be a different selection each time you perform it!

THE DARK CARD Jean Boucher

This one is dynamite, and a real fooler!

A card is chosen from a red-backed deck and signed across the face, then returned to the pack.

The magician snaps his fingers over the deck, whereupon it is spread, showing one blue-backed card clearly visible in the centre!

That card is removed and turned face-up, showing it to be the signed selection!

Remember, the card is handled by the spectator both before and after the change, and can even be left as a souvenir!

Take note that you can execute your favorite signed card routine before revealing that the signed selection back has changed color.

CHEEK TO CHEEK

Magician freely displays a deck of cards. The deck is cut in half, bottom half turned face up, and both halves riffle shuffled together. The deck is spread on the table showing the cards totally mixed up, face up and face down. A spectator selects one of the face up cards while the magician turns his back. The spectator returns the card to the spread face down. The deck is gathered up and once again shuffled.

Remember half the deck is face up and half the deck is face down. A magical pass is made over the cards and once again the deck is spread on the table. NOW all the cards are backs up-EXCEPT FOR ONE CARD-THE SELECTED CARD is the only card in the spread that is face up.

BOY MEETS GIRL

Here is a sneaky way of performing card tricks for those folks who hate card tricks. “Boy Meets Girl” is several effects using specially printed cards instead of your normal deck of playing cards.

Packet of twenty cards is given to the spectator. The packet contains 10 boy cards and 10 girl cards. The spectator is told to cut the cards and complete the cut. This is repeated as many times as they want. The magician then places the packet behind his back and says he will remove the cards in pairs—one boy and one girl in each pair. With just the sense of touch he proceeds to remove pairs—one boy and one girl in each pair!
