Split Decision (With DVD)
by Joshua Jay
Effect
Two spectators look at one card. Yet later on, they can’t agree on which card
was selected.
“It’s the Nine of Hearts.”
“No way! I saw the Ace of Diamonds.”
What happened? And more importantly, what do you do?
Split Decision!
A card is very fairly removed from the deck and torn in half. Half changes into
the Nine of Hearts…while the other half becomes the Ace of Diamonds. Yet the
halves still fit.
Split Decision is at once memorable magic and the perfect souvenir (in fact,
performing the trick creates two impossible objects!). What’s more, Split
Decision leaves the spectators with an impossible object and an experience they
will never forget.
No sleights necessary. Each package contains the necessary custom-printed
gimmicked cards as well as a detailed instructional DVD of Joshua Jay performing
and explaining several handlings. Each gaff, custom printed by the US Playing
Card Company on Bicycle stock, is uniquely designed to be torn in half and yet
display two different values.
Let Joshua Jay, one of magic’s rising stars, teach you the closing piece to his
close-up repertoire!
Refill packs are also available.
“A clever effect that plays with the audience's perceptions.”
—Kostya Kimlat
“I love magic where the finale is permanently frozen in time—keeping the moment
alive forever. That said, Josh’s Split Decision will give your audience
hard-core brain freeze!”
—Gregory Wilson
“Split Decision is the kind of trick that takes root in a spectator’s brain and
becomes more impossible every time he recalls it.”
—David Acer
“A Non-stop roller coaster ride full of twists and turns. The pace of the
routine is rapid and action packed. I love it!”
—Aldo Colombini
"The only split decision you'll have is whether to open or close with it.”
—John B. Born

total disbelief. This is no hype friends, no exaggeration. Yes, this trick is
that good."

IDENTITY CRISES
The magician states “Jokers suffer from an IDENTITY CRISES – having no
personality of their own, their lot in life is to merely mimic other cards they
meet.”
Four Jokers with blue backs are shown and a card is then selected from a red
backed deck. One of the Jokers is exchanged for the spectator’s card and placed
on the bottom of the Joker packet. The Jokers now transform to look like the
selected card. The packet is turned over and the backs are shown to have changed
from blue to red matching the selected card. The procedure is reversed and the
packet is once again shown to contain only four Jokers with blue backs.
SPLIT
DECK
The most totally different card trick for
professional or amateur use.
This special deck is cut diagonally which creates
great interest. Two spectators are asked to assist. Half the deck is spread face
down and the first spectator is asked to touch any half card, this half is
placed on the table facedown. The other half-deck is picked up and the second
spectator is asked to touch any half-card and this half is placed on the table
facedown. The performer now places the two half-cards together to show that the
backs match perfectly. Both halves are turned over and the faces match
perfectly.
If you wish a
prediction can be made before the trick is started. After showing that the two
half-cards match ...show the prediction! Bicycle Poker size
only.
TRIPLE
COVERAGE
Here is a super version of the Magician’s
Insurance Policy trick. Best of all from the close up
performer’s viewpoint, it is an excellent bargain because when you buy it, you
actually receive three different policies each 11" x 17".
One reveals
the Seven of Clubs one the King of Hearts and the third the Three of Hearts. You
can therefore repeat the trick before the same group and not always have the
same card revealed.
The trick comes to you with three nice policies on good
quality paper, and a special vinyl carrying case. The instructions include
directions and gags for the basic
“Insurance Policy” routine, plus a
very nice added routine, which utilizes a signed card and the vinyl carrying
case.
THE
CASINO DECK
EFFECT: The performer
displays a deck of cards from a Las Vegas casino, and invites a spectator to see
who can cut to the highest card. The spectator cuts at any point, and finds an
indifferent card (a Jack, for example). The performer then cuts immediately to
an ACE! The spectator once again cuts to a lower card, while the performer
easily cuts to another Ace. The deck is then turned face up, and the performer
cuts directly to THE FOURTH ACE! Saying, “If it
were that easy, I’d have my own casino”, the performer shows that the backs of
the cards now display his own name! And as a kicker,
ALL OF THE CARDS HAVE CHANGED INTO
ACES!
VAMPIRE
CARD TRICK
A great packet card effect with an
intriguing plot.
Four cards are shown, 3 spot cards and 1 court card.(example;
Ace, two, three of diamonds and a Queen of Spades). The
spot cards are the victims, the court card is the VAMPIRE. The VAMPIRE
sucks the blood from its victims. The cards are counted,
one of the spot cards (A VICTIM) becomes BLANK ON BOTH SIDES. This is repeated
with a second spot card and finally the third spot card becomes blank on both
sides. FINALLY, THE VAMPIRE has become blank.
“BECAUSE
VAMPIRES DON'T REALLY EXIST!” Supplied with
special Bicycle cards and instructions.
COLOR
MONTE
Magician relates how he lost bet after bet with a clever
gambler using three cards. Two cards with a red spot and one with a blue spot
are shown. Trying to guess where the blue spot is, the Magician “loses,” a
dollar each time (the cards change to all blue spots, change back to red spots,
etc.).
After seven amazing changes Magician has “lost” $7.00. The gambler
puts one red spot and one blue spot card on the table and asks what color
remains.
No matter what is said last card is turned over showing $14.00
printed on it!
